What’s new?

It’s been awhile since I posted an update. I have been taking a break and seeking pointers as to how to finish the watch. A few months ago I made a connection with a professional watchmaker back home in Washington State. His name is Henry Hatem and his shop is called HR Horology (www.hjhorology.com). I asked him to take a look at my project so far and make any recommendations as to how I should proceed. I shipped all the parts to him and he evaluated my progress. His main concern was with how I planned to mount the movement inside the case. Without going into too much detail, he basically made some suggestions on how I could change the design slightly to improve my chances for success. After which he recently shipped my project back to me. I hope to start work again on it soon and take his suggestions into account. Realistically, I may not resume until after the holidays but I am eager to continue as soon as possible!

  1. Hi Jim,

Love your blog! Been following you through Shapeways.com as I too am looking at designing my own watch. Could you shoot me an e-mail so we can exchange adresses?

    Best,
